SheepIt alternative:
when free is no longer enough
SheepIt is a free, community-run Blender render farm: you render other people's frames to get yours rendered. TURNA is paid: you choose 1 to 8 machines, you send the scene from Blender, and you do not lend your computer.
SheepIt or TURNA: what sets them apart
| TURNA | SheepIt | |

A delivery date
You choose the number of machines, and so the speed. The calculator gives the duration and the price before you send anything.
Your scene stays within your render
It is not spread across other members' computers: the GPUs are rented for that render only, then destroyed.
Your computer stays free
No points to earn: you do not have to leave your machine running for others.
Frequently asked questions
When should you choose SheepIt over TURNA?
When the budget is zero and the deadline is not tight. SheepIt is a free community render farm based on reciprocity: you lend your machine to render other people's frames, and you earn points to have yours rendered. In that case, it is a very good answer.
When is TURNA the better choice?
When an animation has to be delivered on a set date, or when you do not want to lend your machine. You pay for the compute time and you choose the speed: 250 frames at 2 minutes per frame cost €24.17 in 8 h 20 on 1 machine, or €51.98 in 1 h 03 on 8.
Are my files safer on TURNA?
Your scene is not sent to other members' computers: it is encrypted in transit and rendered on GPUs rented for that render only, from specialised third-party hosts, in Europe or in a country the European Commission recognises as adequate. Scripts in the .blend file do not run and the machine is destroyed at the end. The host administers its own machine: for a project under a strict non-disclosure agreement, ask us for the data processing agreement.
Which Blender versions does TURNA work with?
The TURNA add-on works with Blender 4.0 to 5.2 and renders with Cycles (CUDA and OptiX) and Eevee. TURNA renders Blender scenes only.
