The tier sets how many machines run in parallel: 1 on Standard, 2 on Boost, 4 on Max and 8 on Turbo. More machines means less waiting, but a higher hourly cost. The render calculator estimates both for your scene.
What hardware will run my render?
GPUs, on cloud infrastructure rented on demand. The exact model depends on the machines available at render time. We would rather not guarantee a card model that we do not control.
